“Jared Pierce and Kirk Oldenburg presented to visiting students from Bridgwater and Taunton College in England (yes, the United Kingdom England!). The presentation focused on the process of a typical CCD project, specifically focusing on the B.B. King Museum in Indianola, MS which the students would later visit as part of their U.S. itinerary. The B.B. King Museum, which won an AIA Mississippi Honor Award, was a great introduction to working with a unique program, renovation of an existing (and historic) structure, and a new construction addition. CCD was also honored to return to the museum site and design the memorial garden where B.B. King is laid to rest. Following the presentation, the students got to tour CCD’s office and learn more about how the firm operated. They especially liked learning the history of the CCD building renovation and the rooftop deck drew lots of photos! The visit closed after a short walk to Hal & Mal’s where the students enjoyed gumbo and fried catfish po-boys.”
We are pleased to announce that Kirk Oldenburg, AIA, NCARB, has recently joined Canizaro Cawthon Davis Architects as a Project Architect. Kirk earned a Bachelors in Architectural Engineering with Honors at the University of Southern Mississippi and Masters of Architecture at Louisiana State University. Select projects include Delgado/Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health, Tulane Goldring/Woldenberg Business School, NW Jackson Middle School, Highland Corporate Headquarters, and Poland Avenue Cruise Terminal. Kirk lives in Clinton with his wife Kellis, and son Ryder, and attends First United Methodist Church of Clinton.
CCD is pleased to be a part of the new Children’s Dream Center, a joint project between Show Merci International and Pinelake Church, located in a remote village outside of Kampala, Uganda.
The Dream Center will be the central hub for children’s community events, tutoring and learning, recreation, health & wellness programs, leadership and vocational training and other activities.
CCD designed the 465 square meter (5,000 SF), 2 story building in the traditional Uganda village style. Construction is currently underway and being built by local craftsmen.

What is RESIMERCIAL design? Only the most popular emerging trend in commercial interior design. To describe it in the simple terms, it is a mesh of residential design with corporate design for a more comfortable, more homelike workplace.
