Evers Gallery

During a comprehensive renovation of the terminal at the Jackson Airport, the facility was renamed in honor of the Civil Rights Pioneer Medgar Evers. CANIZARO CAWTHON DAVIS found a prominent location and designed a pavilion to house an exhibit depicting his life and influences on our state. The visitor is drawn into a stone temple form, distinctly separate from the terminal, with a tent form ceiling indicating the fleeting fragile nature of our humanity. Beyond is a bright airy space to celebrate his life.
