During a comprehensive renovation of the terminal at the Jackson Airport, the airport was renamed in honor of the Civil Rights Pioneer Medgar Evers. CANIZARO CAWTHON DAVIS was tasked to find a prominent location and design a pavilion to house an exhibit depicting his life and influences on our state. The visitor is drawn into a stone temple, to create a doorway into a separate space from the terminal, with a tensile structure ceiling indicating the fleeting fragile nature of our humanity. Beyond is a bright airy space to celebrate his life.
