Red River Visitors Center
|Experience:||Museums / Civic|
Adjacent to the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana, the visitor center’s purpose is to inform the public about the Red River Valley and the role of the Corps of Engineers. Functions of the facility include a theater, exhibit area, and offices along with a multi-purpose theater that accommodates video presentations and lectures. The location of the theater and public toilets allows the building to be used for other events, while the exhibit and office area are closed. The exhibit area is located behind a curved exterior wall and is adjacent to an overlook balcony which provides views of the river.
